Collaborators IN Residence Creative Spaces

Across June and July 2020, Creative Spaces invited groups of two or more people inhabiting the same home during the time of COVID-19 lock down and restrictions to apply for the Collaborators In Residence opportunity.

This co-habitative residency invited two or more people from the same or different disciplines to create together and to develop and document a creative outcome. Artists had the opportunity for support and dialogue with artists, and couple, Courtney Scheu and Itamar Freed.

Scheu and Freed said together, artists could achieve more. “Collaboration always initiates innovation and new ideas. When the ideas are coming from more than one source the combination can be very interesting, add other layers and more depth allowing the work to evolve in ways you would never expect."

The work created during the residencies was diverse, dynamic and reveals the high calibre of artists living and working on the Sunshine Coast.

This exhibition presents work by four of the seven talented, collaborator teams.
