Belly Full of Bees is a contemporary dance work that explores journeying away from home and a changing sense of belonging. It is informed by observations, conversations and experiences of being in a foreign place. The movement language has been built through the exploration of layered instructions to create internal conflict and by disrupting familiar patterns of moving. The work raises questions about normalcy, and physical and emotional borders. The sound track represents my inner world layered with the street noise of Tel Aviv, the sounds of forgotten objects in protected areas and acoustic guitar melodies from made in response to Australian landscape (my home).
