SAND

SAND in Horizon Festival Homegrown 2022

The premiere of new contemporary dance work, SAND presents the interdisciplinary collaboration of Sunshine Coast based choreographer and dance artist Courtney Scheu, international visual artist Itamar Freed and collaborators.

This work exists between reality and a dream-like state, skirting the edges of surrealism and consciousness as a doorway to discover more about our relationship to landscape. The artists craft a world that elicits both nostalgia and the sense of alien, the unknown.

From mesmerising and delicate to explosive and surprising, SAND is a timely, dynamic new work that communicates through the interdisciplinary relationship of dance and visual art.

Created by Courtney Scheu and Itamar Freed

Collaborating/performing dancers Josie Weise, Fiona Jopp and Soleil Harvey

Collaborating dancers Katina Olsen, Bella Hood, Nadia Milford

Original sound and music Harel Tsemah
